The local government management certificate program has an opening for a graduate assistant for Fall 2022 and Spring 2023. This position includes a 20 hour a week stipend and full tuition remission. Students can work primarily remotely with limited in-person meetings throughout the academic year.
The local government management certificate program has an opening for a graduate assistant for Fall 2022 and Spring 2023. This position includes a 20 hour a week stipend and full tuition remission. Students can work primarily remotely with limited in-person meetings throughout the academic year.
Duties:
• Support up to 12 adjunct instructors with CANVAS site updates for classes, zoom links
• Collect scholarship applications for Fall, Spring and Summer and complete data entry
• Serve as President/Coordinator of ICMA Student Chapter
o Coordinate 3 virtual events in the Fall and Spring
• Develop materials including flyers to communicate with certificate students on course offerings, enrollment, special events notification
• Serve as ICMA Student Chapter Liaison with ICMA; prepare student chapter annual report
• Respond to certificate students’ requests including conferral applications, registration issues, etc.
• Support outreach activities with the Virginia Municipal League, Virginia Association of Counties and Engaging Local Government Leaders Association
• Small special project work as requested
Student should have a demonstrated interest in local government management. Prefer enrollment in local government certificate program but not required.
